After the success of the 2023 edition, the summer contemporary art exhibition returns on June 27, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the historic Villa Sciarra park, situated at the intersection of Monteverde, Gianicolo, and Trastevere.

This year’s expanded edition, featuring new installations, takes its name from a larger project called OPERA, a cultural initiative that unites art and nature. Today, this idea of a virtuous interconnection between citizen associations and public spaces is more relevant than ever.

Curated by Eugenia Querci in collaboration with Elena Lago, and supported by Roma Capitale and the UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital, the exhibition is promoted by the Amici di Villa Sciarra association and the Creazione neighborhood committee. Both organizations are committed to fostering collaborations among citizens, artists, artisans, and local administrations, all in the spirit of art and culture, with a strong emphasis on nature and communal heritage.

The exhibition serves as the starting point and experimental hub of this project. Twenty artists bring their installations, sculptures, and performances, interacting with a historic park where nature and culture are already intertwined. They contribute their perspectives, ideas, and aesthetics in a stimulating array of artistic languages.

Through their work, the artists don’t simply showcase themselves; they embrace and inhabit the genius loci (spirit of the place), even if only for a short while, creating connections and offering them to the visiting public. Guests are invited to experience a new relationship with the park, gaining a deeper appreciation for its importance and beauty, and understanding the need to preserve it through collective action and care.
